"The Jumping Rock of the First People On the south side of Big Bend of Pit River, half or three-quarters of a mile east of Hot Springs, is a ridge of rock pointing east and west, with a separate small rock near its west end. This was the Jumping Rock of the First People. They used to take turns, starting from the small rock, and always jumped from west to east, to see who could leap over the full length of the long rock." An-Nik'-A-Del' |
